NiceCity is a pay-it-forward social movement and community that shines a light on everyday acts of kindness through social media and the awarding of recognition wristbands to kind individuals.
In addition to sitting on the Board of Directors and providing creative strategy, I established the visual identity system, original wristband design and collateral. I’m also overseeing development of a new website and a new generation of wristbands.
Creating the look for this brand was a lot of fun. The friendly, feel-good nature of the concept facilitated a simple, bright and cheerful visual language that’s easily applied to a wide variety of design executions.
A fully responsive website and blog is currently in development. In addition to showcasing the brand story, social content and events, the site will also enable users to request wristbands online and share their own stories of kindness.
The Future
Initially a small personal project, NiceCity’s popularity and new branding has enabled it to grow and capture attention from organizations including CBC Radio, a Toronto District School Board classroom program and various university student groups.
With a site build in progress, partner organizations and sponsorships are currently being sought to expand reach and support future events and activities.
